GANGTOK, : State BJP on Friday convened a crucial executive committee meeting at
the State party’s headquarters in Singtam.
The
primary agenda of the meeting was to strategize and coordinate the party’s role
in ensuring a grand and smooth welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is
scheduled to visit Sikkim on May 29, a State BJP release informs.
State
BJP president DR Thapa chaired the meeting, attended by the State executive
body members.
During
the deliberations, the committee unanimously expressed its heartfelt gratitude
to the Prime Minister for his upcoming Sikkim visit. The visit holds special
significance for the people of Sikkim and reflects the continued commitment of
the Central leadership towards the development and
welfare of the State, said the State BJP.
The
State BJP president emphasized that the Prime Minister’s visit is a matter of
immense pride and an opportunity to reaffirm Sikkim’s active participation in
the national vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Sikkim. He called upon all
party functionaries to dedicate themselves fully to the preparations and ensure
that the Prime Minister receives a warm and dignified welcome befitting his stature,
the release mentions.
As
part of the preparations, the State BJP designated specific responsibilities to
various members of the State executive. These include protocol management,
coordination with local administration, media engagement, volunteer
mobilization, and public outreach.
BJP
Sikkim reaffirmed its commitment to extending all support to the government and
people of Sikkim to make the Prime Minister’s visit memorable and impactful,
the release adds.
Later
in the day, State BJP president DR Thapa visited the ongoing‘ Sewaaur Sampark Abhiyan’
at Singtam Bazar. He interacted with members of the public and urged them to
take full advantage of the various welfare schemes and initiatives launched by
the BJP government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
