SSA Soreng wins Sikkim Women’s Super League

GANGTOK,: SSA, Soreng won the inaugural Sikkim Women’s Super League with a comfortable 5-2 win over Southerners FC, Namchi at Paljor Stadium here today.

Simran Gurung scored four goals and Priyanka added one for SSA, Soreng while Karishma Rai and Sushmita Lepcha scored for Southerners FC.

Karishma was adjudged player of the match. Simran, the highest scorer of the tournament, also took home the player of the tournament award.      

The winner and runner up teams received cash prizes and trophies.

Krishna Kumari Rai, the Chief Minister’s wife and the chief patron of the women’s wing of Sikkim Football Association, was the chief guest of the final and Salghari-Zoom MLA Sunita Gajmer the guest of honour.  

Seven new members were inducted into the SFA women’s wing during the half-time.
