GANGTOK,:
Sikkim filmmaker Tribeny Rai’s upcoming feature film, “A Chronicle of Minor
Things”, has won the top prize,‘APM Busan Award’, and ‘Sørfond Award’ at the
Asian Project Market (APM) held alongside the Busan International Film Festival
in South Korea. The project was selected from a record 604 submissions from 48
countries. As part of the Sørfond Award, Rai has also been invited to Norway,
opening up further opportunities for international engagement and
collaboration.
Rai
and producer Kislay pitched the project at the Asian Project Market, one of
Asia’s leading platforms for connecting filmmakers with international
producers, financiers, sales agents and potential co-production partners.
The
double recognition marks a significant milestone for Rai’s second feature,
strengthening the project’s prospects for international co-production and
financing as it enters the early stages of development.
“We’re
only just beginning to develop the project, and these awards reassure me that
perhaps we’re moving in the right direction. I’m very happy and grateful,” said
Rai.
The
Asian Project Market provides a platform for filmmakers to present projects to
the international film industry, build partnerships and explore financing
opportunities. The APM Busan Award recognises promising projects presented at
the market, while the Sørfond Award supports international film projects
through opportunities for collaboration and production in Norway.
