Special tourist train with vista dome coach from NJP to Alipurduar

SILIGURI, : Indian Railways on Saturday launched a special tourist train with vista dome coach from New Jalpaiguri Station to Alipurduar junction.
Minority Affairs Minister of State and Alipurduar MP John Barla along with MPs Shankar Ghosh from Siliguri and Sikha Chatterjee from Fulbari flagged-off the train from New Jalpaiguri Station.
The train service will be available every on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The train will leave New Jalpaiguri Station at 7:20 am.
Shuvendu Kumar Choudhary, DRM of Katihar Division, said the introduction of this train will boost tourism and also entertain passengers with scenic beauty while crossing Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and tea gardens of Dooars.
Minister Barla also expressed happiness on the launching of the new train. He said the train will help explore Dooars and other areas of Alipurduar district.
The train has AC, non-AC and chair coaches including vista dome with 44 recliner seats that moves 180 degree, large windows and glass rooftops offering panoramic views while traveling.
There are automatic sliding doors, inbuilt entertainment system integrated with digital display screens and speakers, fire alarming system and LED destination board.
The vista dome coaches have been manufactured at the internal coach factory in Chennai by Indian Railways with an aim to provide passengers with travel comfort and enhanced viewing experience of the surroundings.
