GANGTOK, : With the aim to promote local cuisine, the second day of the
Sikkim Blue Duke Festival 2025 witnessed a live cooking event, where three
national masterchefs and local chefs participated at Saramsa Garden near
Ranipool.
An
initiative byLokSabha MP Indra Hang Subba, the three-day event celebrates
technology, culture and food while striving to inspire students and youth of
Sikkim to explore new ideas and dream big.A major highlight of the festival is
technology, where experts will introduce students to Artificial Intelligence
(AI), drones and robotics
The
second day was attended by SKM party functionaries, along with dignitaries and
students. The live cooking event had chefs prepare local and traditional
cuisine, with organic ingredients.
The
chefs thanked the organising team for giving them a platform to promote the
local and traditional cuisine through the festival.
The
festival also hosted talk shows on RoboSphere, code and recognition and celebrating
Sikkim's culinary excellence and organic heritage with Indian Federation
Culinary Association.
The
festival has 7-8 educational stalls and 12-13 food stalls.
Chief
Minister’s political secretary Bikash Basnet was the chief guest for the day,
also attended by Chief Minister’s press secretary YouganTamang, TAAS president
Sonam Norgay Lachungpa, SKM functionaries and a large number of students. They
were warmly welcomed by LokSabha MP Indra Hang Subba and the organising team.
In
his address, Basnet expressed that the programme was knowledge-based and hugely
beneficial for the students. Our world is increasingly being driven by AI,
robotics and new technologies, and engagements like this will definitely help
our students, he said.
