GANGTOK,: Teesta Urja Limited has announced a financial support of Rs. 1 crore to Sikkim Olympic Association (SOA) and affiliated sports bodies.
Teesta Urja Limited chairman S. Sunil during a function organised by SOA today said that under the direction of Chief Minister P.S. Golay, the Teesta Urja Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility will support SOA and all affiliated sports associations to the extent of Rs. 1 crore, informs a SOA release.
Sunil appreciated the works done by SOA and its affiliated sports associations. He highlighted the need for increasing sports activities in the State to encourage younger generation towards sports. He assured full support and cooperation to the association for training sportsmen in the State and improving sports infrastructure.
Earlier, SOA president Kuber Bhandari highlighted the activities of SOA and all affiliated sports associations for the promotion of sports in the State.
SOA general secretary Jas Lal Pradhan was also present on the occasion.
