GANGTOK: The Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is taking a toll on Sikkim Police, one of the frontline workers battling the pandemic for over six months. At least 51 police personnel have tested positive for Covid in the State so far.
On Tuesday, two police personnel posted at Sadar Police station here were reported to have tested Covid positive, following which the police station has been contained for 48 hours.
Sikkim Police ASP SonamDetchu informed that the police station has been temporarily shifted to the traffic control room at M.G. Marg to attend to criminal and emergency cases only. He also informed that all the primary contacts of the two police personnel have been traced and sent for home quarantine.
