Nepal literary awards for Shanti Chettri

GANGTOK, : Dr. Shanti Chettri, one of the pioneers of Nepali literature in Sikkim, has been honored with the 'Nai Ganesh-Durga International Award' and cash prize in Kathmandu on Friday.

The award recognises Dr.Chettri’s her outstanding contributions to poetry, essays, stories, criticism, feminism, and children’s literature. She is celebrated for shaping literary discourse and empowering voices through her powerful and diverse writings by Nai Prakashan, a press release informs.

Dr.Chettri was also presented the same day with the prestigious 'Bhanu Bhakta Swarna Padak' by the Government of Nepal’s Bhanu Bhakta Bicentennial Celebration Committee for her dedication to promoting Nepali language and literature, although she had been unable to attend the ceremony when it was originally awarded, the release mentions.
