GANGTOK, (IPR): Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay today addressed the 2025
batch of Probationary Officers from the Sikkim State Civil Services and the
Sikkim Finance & Accounts Services at SammanBhawan.
Describing
the young officers as the heart and future of Sikkim’s administrative
machinery, the Chief Minister emphasised their pivotal role in shaping a
governance model that is efficient, transparent, and people-centric. “The
foundation you lay today will determine the strength and integrity of our
future institutions,” he remarked during his address.
He
noted that while formal training marks a significant milestone in their
journey, learning must be a lifelong endeavor. He encouraged the officers to
remain committed to their duties with humility, discipline, and an unwavering
spirit of public service.
Highlighting
the importance of ethical conduct, the Chief Minister called on the officers to
stay rooted in sincerity and selflessness. “I wish them all the very best in
their careers and their service to the people,” he concluded.
Earlier
in the programme, the secretary of the Department of Personnel,
RinzingChewangBhutia, thanked the Chief Minister for his continued support in
enhancing the state’s Administrative Training Institute (ATI). He also provided
an overview of recent recruitment across various government departments,
underscoring the administration’s efforts to strengthen human resources in
public service.
He
advised the new officers to become domain experts, continuously hone their
skills, and learn from both senior colleagues, subordinates and field
experiences. He encouraged them to stay grounded, actively participate in
government events, and remain committed to inclusive and responsive governance.
During
the event, the Probationary Officers also shared their training experiences and
expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, the ATI, and the Government of
Sikkim for the opportunity to serve.
The
event was attended by secretary Chief Minister’s Office Karma Namgyal, director
of ATI Mahesh Sharma, deputy secretary (ATI) Chabilal Sharma, along with other
senior officials from the Department of Personnel.
