Grand homecoming for Poet Idol winner Neelam Gurung

RANGPO,: Neelam Gurung, the winner of ‘Poet Idol’ Season 1, on Tuesday received a grand homecoming from various organisations, her family and well-wishers at Rangpo, the gateway to Sikkim.

Chief Minister’s political secretary Jacob Khaling, additional political secretary Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, Culture advisor Bhim Kumari Sharma, Rangpo Nagar Panchayat president Sanjeev Kumar Khati, councillors and others were present to welcome the poet.

‘Poet Idol’ is a reality show of Nepal that ran for 33 episodes in the past three months with the contestants also needing votes from people.

At the reception, Neelam thanked all her supporters and well-wishers for their encouragement and votes that ensured her victory. She expressed her special thanks to Chief Minister P.S. Golay, political secretary Jacob Khaling, her parents and other individuals.

Neelam expressed her commitment to continue pursuing her passion in poetry with full enthusiasm. She also thanked her well-wishers in Nepal.
