Lakshman Prasad Acharya appointed new governor of Sikkim

GANGTOK,: President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday appointed the governors of 13 States and Union Territories including Sikkim.

As per the notification issued from the President’s office, Lakshman Prasad Acharya will be the new governor of Sikkim. He will replace Ganga Prasad.

Acharya was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).  

Chief Minister P.S. Golay on Sunday congratulated former Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council member Acharya on his appointment as the 17th governor of Sikkim.

Welcoming the incoming governor, Golay wrote on Facebook: “We look forward to your guidance and I am confident that our State will flourish under your able leadership.”
