Minister Arun Upreti visits Jorethang Maghey Mela

GANGTOK, : Urban Development minister Arun Kumar Upreti attended the fifth day of the Maghey Sankranti Mela at Jorethang as the chief guest.

The day featured a vibrant array of cultural performances, celebrating the rich traditions and heritage of various ethnic communities in the State.

The minister toured the traditional stalls set up for the mela and explored the diverse offerings on display. He was accompanied by Madan Cintury, MLA and chief patron of Maghey Sankranti Mela, along with other dignitaries.

Upreti also visited ‘The Creative Hub’, an initiative by the Information and Public Relations department, at Green Park and interacted with participants.

The Creative Hub is hosting an array of activities related to art, fashion music and cuisines. The Creative Hub also features a section dedicated to the history of the Maghey Sankranti Mela, presented through a photo exhibition and documentaries by the IPR department.
