PM Modi to visit Sikkim on April 27-28: CM

GANGTOK: The much anticipated visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was formally declared by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on the occasion of 50 years of Sikkim Express celebration in Gangtok on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said: “The much anticipated visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of 50 years of Sikkim is scheduled for April 27 and April 28. The Prime Minister will be arriving around 3 PM at Libing Army Helipad on April 27; he will be staying in Lok Bhawan on the day”.

Golay highlighted that a road show of the Prime Minister is scheduled from Libing Helipad, Deorali to Lok Bhawan on April 27, and appealed the people of Sikkim to give a massive presence. On the next day, the Prime Minister will be addressing the general public at Paljor Stadium.

The Prime Minister was scheduled to visit Sikkim in May 2025 for the Statehood Golden Jubilee celebrations. However due to inclement weather conditions then, he could only virtually address the gathering at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok from Siliguri in West Bengal.

The Chief Minister sounded positive in sharing the message of PM Modi's visit in hopes that the whether doesn't spoil the visit this time, as compared to last year.
