Tourism Dept takes inputs from TAAS, SHRA for Sikkim tourism promotion

GANGTOK,: Tourism minister BS Panth on Saturday chaired a meeting with TAAS and SHRA. It was attended by STDC chairman Lukendra Rasaily, Tourism secretary Prakash Chettri, TAAS president Sonam Norgay Lachungpa, general secretary Ramesh Basnett, SHRA president Shrada Sharma and general secretary Ritez Chettri, department officials and executive members of both the organisations.

A press release informs that the meeting was held for the TAAS and SHRA to present recommendations to the State government for the marketing and promotion of Sikkim in upcoming national tourism fairs and other matters related to Sikkim tourism.

Suggestions and feedback from the two organisations were taken on a serious note by the Tourism minister and the department.

The TAAS thanked the Tourism minister, the STDC chairman and the Tourism department for the initiative and also for the support in promoting and marketing in the upcoming tourism fairs at Hyderabad and Dhaka next month.

The meeting came to a successful conclusion with a productive discussion aimed at enhancing Sikkim's tourism industry, the TAAS release informs.
