GANGTOK,: In a remarkable display of talent and determination, 7-year-old
Shivani Thapa from St Thomas' School Gangtok has secured the 2nd position in
the 3 km inter-school run at the 2nd Edition of the Mirik Hill 10K Run.
Organized by Mirik Road Runners, the event drew young competitors from across
the region, and Shivani’s performance was a proud achievement for her school
and her community.
A class 3
student in St Thomas' School, Shivani is not only a dedicated runner but also
an active member of Project Life, a fitness initiative promoting health and
sports. She has already participated in several prestigious short-distance
events, including the JBG Gorkha 10K, SMIT 2.0, DKKS Athletic Meet, Gangtok
District Athletic Meet, and numerous other fun runs, a press release informs.
Recognized as
an inspiring young athlete, Shivani has also served as the ambassador for
prominent events like the SMIT 2.0 and the Mirik Hill 10K Run. Her impact
extends further as she will be the ambassador for the upcoming 4th Edition of
the Darjeeling Juniorthon, set to take place on November 17.
Shivani’s
parents, Bikram Thapa and Renu Rana, have supported her passion for running,
fostering her journey from a young age. Her impressive participation and
