SILIGURI,: Sikkim Chief Minister PS Golay has said the Sikkim government will soon expose the mastermind and those provoking Samson Tamang for disrupting communal harmony of communities living in Sikkim and Bengal.

Samson allegedly posted a hate speech against the Khas community on social media last month. Multiple FIRs have been registered against him in Sikkim police stations.

The Chief Minister was in Siliguri on Friday morning for a pre-scheduled inauguration event.

Asked about allegations by opposition parties regarding on delay in arresting Samson, the Chief Minister informed that the Sikkim Police has been directed to take appropriate action against the accused.

Since he belongs to another State there is a slight problem to find him but Sikkim Police is working hard to arrest him, said the Chief Minister in response to questions asked by the media at Siliguri regarding the Samson Tamang case.

“We are not silent and trying our best to arrest him. It is easy to blame the government but I will soon expose those persons who are involved in the Samson Tamang case,” said the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Sikkim Police is trying to trace the location of Samson in various areas at Bagdogra, Naxalbari, Khoribari and other areas where the accused used to stay previously.

On other hand, GTA chief Anit Thapa on Saturday has submitted a written complaint letter to Darjeeling SP Praween Prakash seeking immediate police action against Samson Tamang for his hate speech on social media.

Samson’s statements against the Chettri-Bahun community not only promote division but also pose a serious threat to the social harmony and fabric of GTA region, said Thapa.

His actions warrant immediate arrest to prevent further damage and ensure that communal harmony is preserved, said the GTA chief executive.
