GANGTOK, : A team of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) who are on a pan-India Bharat Darshan Sushasan Yatra will arrive in Sikkim on Wednesday for a four-day study tour of the State.
During their stay in Sikkim, a team of BJYM functionaries from all over the country will visit various places, and observe and study the development works taking place here as well as the State’s natural, cultural and traditional landscape, informs a press release.
The Sikkim visit will be led by Raju Bista, Darjeeling MP and national general secretary of BJYM. More than 30 youths from different States will participate in the trip.
On the first day of the four-day Yatra in Sikkim, a reception programme has been planned for Raju Bista and BJYM functionaries from various parts of the country. The reception will be followed by a cultural programme at the evening.
Similarly, on April 28, the team will visit Nathu La on the Indo-China border, interact with the Indian Army stationed there and visit the nearby tourist spots including Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.
On April 29, the BJYM team will visit Temi Tea garden to study the situation of organic tea production and tea workers.
Later in the day, the team will visit NHPC Teesta Stage-5 Power House at Baluwatar to study the energy production process as well as the contribution of the project to the country.
They will also visit Glenmark Pharma Company near Ranipool to assess the contribution of the pharmaceutical industry in Sikkim and the country.
The team will conclude their Sikkim tour on April 30 with a visit to religious places in and around the capital, the release mentions.
The Bharat Darshan Sushasan Yatra is initiated by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, a youth wing of BJP, to introduce its members to the country's cultural diversity, traditions and historical richness by experiential tours to different places. The Yatra was launched by Union Home minister Amit Shah from Bengaluru on April 1.
