GANGTOK, : Prominent litterateur Nanda Hangkhim was on Sunday honoured with
the 14thBadri Narayan Pradhan Memorial Award during an event
organised by Badri Narayan Pradhan Memorial Foundation at Bagrakote, Dooars.
Eminent
writers Dr.RishirajBaral and RatanBantawa handed away the award, citation and
shawl to Hangkhim while the foundation’s president Ashoke
Roka presented the cash award.
Bantawa,
the chief guest for the event, emphasised on the need to take forward the
historic legacy of Badri Narayan Pradhan.
In
his address, awardee Nanda Hangkhim expressed his happiness on receiving the
prestigious literary award and thanked the foundation for recognising his
literary contributions.
Literary
figures from Darjeeling, Sikkim, Siliguri, Kurseong, Darjeeling, Dooars and
Nepal attended the award function.
