GANGTOK,: Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chungthang, ArunChettri, accompanied by
SDPO Chungthang, ChandanChhetri, conducted an inspection of the ongoing road
restoration works at Tarum Chu to assess the progress of restoration and review
measures being undertaken to restore safe connectivity.
The
inspection was attended by Officer Commanding, D. Vivek, OC 86 RCC, who briefed
about the progress of the restoration works and discussed the challenges being
encountered on the ground, informs a press release on Wednesday.
During
the inspection, the SDM appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Border Roads
Organisation (BRO) personnel engaged in the restoration work under challenging
terrain and weather conditions. It was observed that the restoration activities
are progressing satisfactorily, with significant efforts being made to restore
road connectivity at the earliest.
The
SDM emphasized the importance of maintaining safety standards during the
execution of the works and directed all concerned agencies to continue close
coordination to ensure timely completion of the restoration while prioritizing
the safety of workers and commuters.
The
district administration expressed confidence that, with the continued efforts
of BRO and the support of all stakeholders, the road restoration work at Tarum
Chu will be completed expeditiously, thereby improving connectivity and
facilitating the movement of residents and essential services, the release mentions.
