SILIGURI, : Nirupam Sharma, ISRO scientist and a member of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, was felicitated at Bagdogra by different organisations and individuals on Sunday. The programme was organised by Tenzing Norgay Smrity Sangh and Chetenshil Sangarshrat Jamat.
Nirupam, a resident of Okayati Tea Estate, had come home to celebrate Dasain, and returned to Bengaluru today.
Nirupam during his brief stay inaugurated a Puja pandal at Milan More, designed to resemble the model of Chandrayaan-3.
Earlier, the residents of Okayati Tea Estate in Mirik had accorded Nirupam a grand welcome and felicitated for his contribution to the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
