Kanchankanya Express gets a stoppage at Naxalbari railway station

SILIGURI,: After much preparation, the new stoppage of Kanchankanya Express at Naxalbari railway station was marked by Darjeeling Lok Sabha MP Raju Bista on Saturday morning.

The demand for stoppage of Sealdah-Alipurduar Kanchanakanya Express at Naxalbari railway station was made by public to Matigada-Naxalbari MLA Anandmay Barman and following that Bista had reached out to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav requesting a stoppage.

"However, we have to be aware that the stoppage will made permanent, depending upon the sale of tickets at the station, and passenger footfall. Since Naxalbari station can be easily accessed by the people from Kurseong, Mirik, Panighatta, Dudhey, Hathighisa, Khoribari, Panitanki, Rangali, Ghoshpukur, Phansidewa areas, people can use Naxalbari station to board and de-board the train from", said Bista.

Passengers who want to avoid congestion at Siliguri/NJP can use trains from Naxalbari station.

Bista was joined by Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anandmay Barman, ADRM Sanjay Chhindwarwa and other railway officials and others.
