Namchi girls’ school wins national pipe band competition

NAMCHI, (IPR): Namchi girls’ senior secondary school won the national-level pipe band competition held as a part of the Republic Day celebration.

The competition was organised by Ministry of Education in collaboration with Ministry of Defence, at National War Memorial in Delhi today.

The Namchi girls’ school band was selected for national-level competition after winning the State-level competition organised by Samagra Siksha of Education department.

After the semi-final round held on virtual mode, Namchi girls' senior secondary school along with seven other schools across four categories were called for national level finale in Delhi.

The band led by band master Dawa Sedan Sherpa was accompanied by school principal Bandana Rai, and escort teachers Rinzing Wangmoo Sherpa, Lakpha Lamu Sherpa and Bhim Prasad Sharma.  

The school has thanked Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) for his love and blessings, and Namchi DC M. Bharani, chief education officer (Namchi) K. Imbaraj and all the officials of Education department for their motivation and kind support.
