Regional Research Institute for Homeopathy at Siliguri inaugurated

SILIGURI, : Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, Minister of State of Ayush, along with Darjeeling MP Raju Bista on Monday inaugurated the Regional Research Institute for Homeopathy at Siliguri.

The Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy (RRIH), Siliguri is a premier institute under CCRH, Ministry of Ayush. It is established in Chhota Pathuram Jote near North Bengal Medical College and Hospital by NBCC India limited at an estimated budget of Rs 9.42 crore.

The RRIH will have standardized general and research OPDs, yoga therapy facilities and laboratory committed towards patient care.

The OPD of the institute will provide low-cost treatment facilities to the general population including free treatment to patients under ‘Below Poverty Line’ category. The RRIH will upgrade its current infrastructure with inclusion of facilities like IPD, basic research laboratories, Imaging facilities and other modern health care amenities.

“I am hopeful that with the opening of the Regional Research Institute for Homeopathy, there will be focus on holistic healthcare in the region, and provide an avenue for our citizens to avail the benefits of alternative medicinal practices. My next goal is to ensure the opening of a Regional Research Institute for Ayurveda and Medicinal Plants in Mungpoo, and a Swo Rigpa Center in Kalimpong," said Bista after the inaguration.

The Darjeeling MP added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the traditional medicinal practices, and the holistic healthcare sector have seen a great boost. I am confident that the Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars will emerge as a hub of alternative medicine and naturopathy in the coming days, he said.
