Six nominated to NSP Sikkim executive committee

GANGTOK,: Six individuals have been nominated to the executive committee of the Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP) Sikkim, the apex Nepali literary body of the State.

The nominated executive committee members are Usha Sharma, Rupa Tamang, Joseph Lepcha, Kuber Bista, Sukraj (Aron) Rai, and DR Giri, according to a Parishad press release issued on Thursday.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the NSP Sikkim executive committee held at Parishad Bhavan in Development Area. The meeting, held after the recent elections, was chaired by the newly elected NSP Sikkim president, Hari Dhungel.

It was also decided to nominate 13 individuals - who have been selflessly serving the Parishad - as honorary members. Similarly, five prominent personalities will be nominated as advisors to the NSP Sikkim.

NSP Sikkim general secretary Bhim Rawat delivered the welcome address.

In his remarks, NSP Sikkim president Hari Dhungel urged the new executive committee members to remain committed to the prestige and objectives of the Parishad.

The meeting also deliberated on the upcoming programmes and events of the NSP Sikkim, the release added.
