GANGTOK, : The SKM youth wing on Wednesday organised an engaging youth
interaction programme at Saramsa near Ranipool with a collective call to work towards
a ‘Sunaulo, Samriddha, Samartha Sikkim’.
A
party press release informs that the engagement with the youth was organised
under the directives of Chief Minister PS Golay and actively initiated by SKM
youth wing president Lakpa Moktan. The event featured discussions on the youth
wing’s future strategies and upcoming initiatives.
SKM
general secretary Arun Upreti was the chief guest on the occasion also attended
by youth wing vice president (in-charge) Sanjeet Kharel, youth wing president
Lakpa Moktan, ministers NB Dahal and Raju Basnet, MLAs Aditya Golay and Erung
Lepcha, party spokesperson Jacob Khaling and Bikash Basnet, youth wing vice
president Sahadev Sharma, party functionaries, and district-level
representatives of the SKM youth wing.
In
his address, SKM general secretary Arun Upreti emphasized that youth workers
should be ready to work with commitment and a spirit of service, while
remaining disciplined and to fully support the decisions made by the party and
its leadership.
SKM
spokesperson Bikash Basnet, in his interaction, shared about the flagship
initiatives of the SKM government. He spoke about how the party and its
initiatives can be highlighted through social media platforms.
SKM
spokesperson Jacob Khaling, in his address, recalled the days of struggle
during the initial period of the party, and shared about the dedicated works
done by the party youth at that time.
Similarly,
SKM youth wing vice president Sahadev Sharma spoke about the violence committed
during the previous government’s tenure in Sikkim, and asserted that such
violent activities have ended under the SKM government. He stressed on
spreading awareness about the government’s welfare schemes at the grassroots
level.
Youth
wing general secretary Yougan Rai gave a detailed report of the frontal
organisation’s activities and progress.
The
programme was also addressed by party’s organisation cell vice president
(in-charge) OT Lepcha, ministers NB Dahal and Raju Basnet, and MLAs Aditya
Golay and Erung Lepcha, the release issued by SKM social media cell president
Navin Dahal mentions.
