The Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) organised a programme in
Gangtok on Sunday to mark the successful conclusion of Kailash Manasarovar
Yatra 2026 via Nathu La.
The
programme was attended by STDC chairman Lukendra Rasaily, principal chief
executive officer Gyurmie Yousal, liaison officers Nitesh Kumar and Girraj
Meena, and the pilgrims. The event acknowledged the contribution of officials,
support staff and other stakeholders involved in facilitating the annual
pilgrimage.
Talking
to the media, Lukendra Rasaily congratulated the pilgrims on successfully
completing the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2026 via Nathu La. He also appreciated
the support staff and all those involved in ensuring the smooth and successful
conduct of the yatra.
Rasaily
said feedback received from the pilgrims would be carefully considered, with
the concerned authorities working towards addressing their suggestions and
improving the overall experience in future editions of the pilgrimage.
He
further stated that there were clear instructions from Chief Minister Prem
Singh Tamang to ensure that the yatra was conducted smoothly and efficiently,
with the comfort, safety and well-being of the pilgrims given due priority.
The
STDC chairman said the corporation would continue to work towards further
strengthening arrangements and improving facilities to make the Kailash
Manasarovar Yatra through Nathu La a better experience for pilgrims in the
coming years.
STDC
principal chief executive officer Gyurmie Yousal said that a total of 10
batches comprising 464 pilgrims participated in the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra
2026 via Nathu La. He said the yatra commenced on June 12 and expressed
gratitude for being entrusted with the responsibility of providing services and
facilitating the pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
He
also highlighted the efforts made by the STDC team and support staff to ensure
the smooth conduct of the yatra.
Liaison
officer Nitesh Kumar, expressed gratitude to the STDC team and the Government
of Sikkim for their continued support and efforts in ensuring the well-being
and comfort of the pilgrims throughout the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra. He
appreciated the arrangements made for the pilgrims and the dedicated efforts of
all those involved in making the pilgrimage a smooth and successful one.
