CM mourns passing away of Kaajee Singh

GANGTOK,: Chief Minister PS Golay has expressed his deep condolences on the passing away of Padma Shri awardee and renowned Gorkha-Nepali musician Kaajee Singh.

In his condolence message on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said: “It is with profound sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Padma Shri awardee and renowned Gorkha-Nepali musician, Late Shri Kaajee Singh. A towering figure in the realm of music and culture, his departure is an irreplaceable loss to the Gorkha community and beyond.”

Beyond his music, his scholarly work, reflected in the publication of over five books on folk music and instruments, serves as a treasure trove for cultural enthusiasts and researchers alike, said the Chief Minister.

“On behalf of the people of our State, I convey my deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and admirers. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to illuminate the path for those who strive to preserve and celebrate the rich traditions of our heritage,” said the Chief Minister.
