Mangan, (IPR): Mangan District observed the District-Level Youth Festival
as part of the National Youth Festival 2025, commemorating the birth
anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event was organised by Sports and Youth
Affairs department, Mangan District in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra
Mangan at PM SHRI Mangan Senior Secondary School today.

Kado Lepcha attended as the chief guest. Also present were the panchayat president
and ward panchayat member of Ringim Nampatam GPU, JD Sports Janim Lepcha
alongside officials from the concerned departments of the district and
participants.
The event
featured various competitions, including painting, poetry writing, story
writing, Declamation contest, mobile photography, science exhibitions, cultural
group and solo folk songs, and cultural group and solo folk dances.
A total of 59
participants representing five schools and a club from the district took part
in the various competitions, namely: PM SHRI Mangan Senior Secondary School,
Mangshila Senior Secondary School, Gor Secondary School, Kalzang Gyatso Senior
Secondary School, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) Swayem and Mangan
Dream Dance Academy.
The results of
the various competitions were announced, and certificates were distributed to
the winners. It may be mentioned that those who excelled in their respective
categories will represent the district at the State-Level Youth Festival on
December 18–19, 2024.
Mementoes were
also presented to the guests and judges.
In his address,
Zilla Adhakshya Kado Lepcha congratulated all the participants for their
enthusiasm and efforts. He urged the youth to remain active and committed,
emphasising the importance of hard work in shaping a brighter future and
building a better society. He encouraged them to strive for excellence and
contribute positively to their communities.
The programme
aimed to inspire young people through cultural and educational activities while
fostering creativity and a sense of unity. The event concluded successfully,
reflecting the collaborative efforts of schools, clubs, and the organising
team.
