Former MP Bhim Dahal passes away

GANGTOK,: Former MP and renowned litterateur Bhim Dahal passed away Saturday night. He was 68 years old and undergoing treatment at STNM Hospital here for a long time.
Dahal, also a senior SDF leader, served as a Lok Sabha MP of Sikkim from 1996 till 2004. He was the chief spokesperson for SDF for several years.
In his condolence message, Governor Ganga Prasad expressed his deep sadness while mourning the passing away of Bhim Dahal. Sikkim has lost an experienced politician, a journalist, a literary figure and a committed leader, he said. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Chief Minister P.S. Golay has deeply mourned the demise of the political and literary stalwart.
“Sikkim has lost an illustrious son. We worked together for several years in the same organization. I always deeply respected his intellect and knowledge. He was a cheerful person blessed with skills as a person with clarity in his expression. With his demise, Sikkim has lost a great litterateur, a social worker and an able politician. It is an irreparable loss for our State,” said the Chief Minister in his condolence message.
The Chief Minister prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Similarly, the ruling SKM recorded its deep sadness on the passing away of Bhim Dahal. Remembering Dahal as a senior politician and former three-time MP of Sikkim, the SKM shared that he had rendered invaluable contributions to Nepali literature also with his books, poems and writings.
The demise of Bhim Dahal is a huge loss to the political and literature sectors of Sikkim, said the SKM, extending its deep condolences to the bereaved family.
