GANGTOK, :
The inaugural Sikkim Slam 3x3 Open Basketball Tournament concluded today after
three days of intense action at the indoor basketball court in Paljor Stadium
complex here.
The
quarter finals and semi-finals took place in the first half of the day, and
finals in the second half.
SYM
(Salesian Youth Movement) Shillong won the men’s final, defeating Kurseong 17
points to 15.
In
the women’s final, Alley Oop (Uttar Pradesh) defeated Budhanilkantha (Nepal)
20-14.
The
final had Gangtok MLA Delay Namgyal Barfungpa as the chief guest, while Prince
PaldenGyurmed Namgyal and Princess Hope Leezum Namgyal were the guests of
honour.
The
tournament was organised by District Administrative Centre, Gangtok and Gangtok
District Police, in association with Freedom Rehabilitation Facility and Ravens
Basketball Club.
Deputy
SpeakerRaj Kumari Thapa, chief patron and Soreng-ChakungMLA Aditya Golay and
Rinchenpong MLA ErungTenzing Lepcha were also present.
