In October 2024, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, long considered one of India’s most tech-savvy and futuristic leaders, announced the adoption of a similar model for his state. The industrial policies in Andhra Pradesh will now carry the motto ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’—a clear testament to the far-reaching impact of PS Golay’s pioneering governance. This emulation highlights PS Golay’s ability to lead from the front, introducing initiatives that other states are eager to follow.

Pro-People Policies That Resonate Across India

PS Golay’s visionary approach extends far beyond entrepreneurship. The ‘Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana’, Sikkim’s pioneering women empowerment scheme, stands as one of the largest in India. Under this program, mothers in the state receive an annual grant of Rs. 40,000—an unprecedented gesture of support. Moreover, each household is provided with four free LPG cylinders annually under ‘Aama Sahyog Yojana’, a boon for women managing domestic responsibilities. 

Such policies reflect PS Golay’s unwavering focus on women’s welfare, creating a safety net that few other states can match. In addition, PS Golay’s administration has brought relief to thousands of temporary government employees by regularizing their positions. Many had worked for 20-25 years without job security, but PS Golay's government took the unprecedented step of offering them stability and dignity, fulfilling what was once considered an impossible promise.

A New Chapter for Sikkim: Sunaulo, Samriddha, Ani Samarth Sikkim

PS Golay’s vision for a Sunaulo, Samriddha, Ani Samarth Sikkim (Golden, Prosperous, and Capable Sikkim) is driving the state toward a new era of growth and development. His leadership is characterized by his unwavering commitment to ensuring that every citizen of Sikkim benefits from the state's progress. 

The Creatorpreneur scheme is another visionary initiative that will position Sikkim as a global hub for digital creators. By providing seed funding to 75,000 young creators over the next five years, PS Golay is ensuring that Sikkim becomes a key player in the digital economy. This focus on fostering talent in new industries underscores his dedication to creating sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.

Leading in Healthcare, Education and Sustainability

PS Golay’s administration has also prioritised healthcare, introducing the CM Medical Assistance Scheme, which provides up to Rs. 20 lakh for medical expenses to Sikkimese citizens in need. Additionally, the planned ‘Mukhyamantri Sanjeevani Yojana’ offers one of the most comprehensive health insurance packages in India, with coverage of up to Rs. 30 lakh per family. These initiatives reflect PS Golay’s determination to ensure that healthcare is accessible and affordable for all. 

Under his leadership, Sikkim’s healthcare infrastructure is undergoing a massive upgrade. New multi-specialty hospitals are being constructed across the state, including a 500-bed hospital in Namchi and a 300-bed facility in Singtam. These advancements will significantly enhance the state’s healthcare capabilities, ensuring better access for all residents.

Education has also been a cornerstone of PS Golay’s tenure. His government has expanded the Mukhyamantri Scholarship Scheme and reserved 50 free MBBS seats for Sikkimese students, further enabling young people to pursue their dreams. With new colleges and universities under construction, including the Subhash Chandra Bose Centre of Excellence, Golay’s administration is laying the foundation for an education revolution in Sikkim.

PS Golay’s leadership in environmental sustainability has garnered international attention. The ‘Mero Rukh, Mero Santati’ program, which involves planting 108 trees for every newborn in the state, has been hailed globally, including at COP28.
