GANGTOK,: Nepali litterateur Bishnu Sharma Adhikari from Dooars was on Sunday honoured with the 10th Badrinarayan Pradhan Memorial Award. The award function was held at Bhimshen Bhawan, Bagrakote, the ancestral village of Badrinarayan Pradhan.
The event also observed the 94th Badrinarayan Pradhan Jayanti with Kalimpong College principal Dr. Rajendra Prasad Dhakal as the chief guest, a press release informs.
Adhikari was presented with a cash prize of Rs. 15,001, shawl and citation in the function attended by Badrinarayan Pradhan Memorial Foundation chairman Sukman Moktan, senior literary figures and social workers.
In his address, Adhikari shared his memories of Badrinaryan Pradhan with whom he studied together at Bagrakote high secondary school. Under his encouragement, I started writing Nepali literature, he said.
The chief guest, in his address, shared his perspective on ‘Mauli’ and ‘Chakung Dairy’, the two literary pieces of Badrinarayan Pradhan.
