GANGTOK,: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay unveiled the tickets for the
upcoming ‘Nepathya Live in Sikkim - Let’s Get Loud: Celebrate Sikkim’ concert
at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok, on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day
celebrations on August 15.
The
ticket launch took place at Paljor Stadium during the final of the Independence
Cup football tournament, which was attended by more than 10,000 people. During
the interval of the final match, the Chief Minister formally unveiled the
concert tickets along with a special Nepathya Live In Sikkim - Let’s Get Loud:
Celebrate Sikkim T-shirt, a press release informs.
The
unveiling was held in the presence of Sikkim Government ministers Raju Basnet,
Sonam Lama and Arun Kumar Upreti, along with SIMFED Chairman Tenzing Dorjee
Bhutia, who has also been designated as the Chief Coordinator of the event by
the management of Positive Vibes Entertainment Network [PVE Network].
The
occasion marked the formal public introduction of the upcoming concert at the
same venue where Nepathya will perform later this year.
One
of the most celebrated Nepali folk-rock bands, Nepathya will perform in Gangtok
for the first time on October 31 at Paljor Stadium.
The
concert, titled ‘Nepathya Live in Sikkim - Let’s Get Loud: Celebrate Sikkim’,
is being presented by Positive Vibes Entertainment Network [PVE Network] and
produced by Nepalaya.
Known
for timeless songs including Resham, Taal Ko Pani, Bhedako Oon Jasto and Yo
Zindagani, amd orhers, Nepathya has connected generations of Nepali-speaking
audiences through a musical identity deeply influenced by folk traditions,
culture, landscapes and everyday life.
The
Gangtok concert is being envisioned not simply as a musical performance, but as
an evening bringing together music, culture and shared identity.
Through
Nepathya Live In Sikkim - Let's Get Loud: Celebrate Sikkim, PVE Network intends
to build a larger platform around the concert that celebrates Sikkim’s culture,
people, hospitality and tourism while generating opportunities for the local
creative and business ecosystem.
The
initiative aims to use live music as a catalyst for cultural and musical
tourism, encouraging audiences from outside the State to travel to Gangtok for
the concert while experiencing Sikkim as a destination.
Speaking
about the larger purpose behind the initiative, PVE Network Founding Director
Bikesh Kayastha said the organisation wants to demonstrate how professionally
organised music events can contribute towards positioning Sikkim as a cultural
and musical tourism destination.
Tickets
for the concert are now available online exclusively through District by Zomato
and tickets are selling fast with an expected Sold Out concert.
The
organisers expect audiences from across Sikkim as well as Darjeeling,
Kalimpong, Kurseong, Siliguri, other parts of Northeast India and neighbouring
regions to travel to Gangtok for the event.
