‘Efforts being made to seek GI tag for Limboo
traditional attire’
GANGTOK,: The grand finale of Sikkim Miss Limboo Season 4 and Mr Limboo Season 2 was held at Manan Kendra here on Sunday evening.
The event featured several rounds testing the
contestants' confidence, personality and knowledge of Limboo culture, language
and traditions.
The contestants participated in the Semi Yatra,
introduction, props, subtitle and question-and-answer rounds. The props round
featured authentic traditional Limboo items, while the subtitle round included
couple entries.
Priti Limboo was crowned 2026 Sikkim Miss Limboo,
while Jessica Limboo finished as the first runner-up and Yunita Limboo as the
second runner-up. Nunam Limboo and Dil Hangma Limboo completed the Top 5.
The special titles in the women's category went to
Nunam Limboo (Miss Talented), Roshni Limboo from Nagaland (Miss Photogenic),
Roshni Limboo from Assam (Miss Graceful), Yunita Limboo (Miss Beauty with
Brain), Aleena Limboo (Miss Best Smile), Radha Limboo (Miss Best Personality),
Mamta Limboo (Miss Traditional Attire), Dil Hangma Limboo (Miss Best Limboo
Language Speaker), Babyna Limboo (Miss Congeniality), Priti Limboo (Miss Best
Ramp Walk) and Jessica Limboo (Miss Popular).
In the men's category, Saru Hang Limboo won the Mr
Limboo title, followed by Ningwa Hang Limboo as first runner-up and Aditya
Limbooas second runner-up. Hangsu Limboo and Bishu Hang Limboo were also among
the Top 5.
Special titles were awarded to Saru Hang Limboo
(Mr Congeniality), Ningwa Hang Limboo (Mr Photogenic), Gagan Limboo (Mr
Popular), Yasho Hang Limboo (Mr Best Ramp Walk), Hangsu Limboo (Mr Traditional
Attire), Aditya Limboo (Mr Talented), Gaurav Limboo (Mr Best Personality) and
Bishu Hang Limboo (Mr Best Limboo Language Speaker).
The judging panel comprised Bijay Subba, CEO and
founder of Positude Miss Sikkim; Kalyani Yakha, winner of Mrs India Legacy 2025
and Mrs Sikkim 2025; Raju Limboo, textbook officer and SYSS vice president; and
Hangmawama Limboo, Miss Limboo Season 2.
Chief guest Dipen Limboo, OSD, Commerce and
Industries department and general secretary, SEED Cell, congratulated the
organisers, judges and contestants and said the pageant was not merely about
physical appearance but also provided a platform to showcase talent, culture,
tradition and the aspirations of young people.
He said the Limboo community was an integral and
proud part of Sikkim and appreciated contestants who demonstrated their
knowledge of the Limboo language and wore traditional attie.
Limboo also acknowledged the support of the Sikkim
government and Chief Minister in promoting and preserving the traditional
cultures of the State’sdiverse communities. He said efforts were also being
made to seek a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Limboo traditional attire
and related cultural items.
The event was organised under the leadership of
Binita Limboo, CEO of Miss Limboo. Kamal Puyam from Manipur, a second runner-up
in Northeast Super Model, served as groomer and choreographer.
The organisers announced that the winner and first
runner-up would receive direct entry to Miss Sikkim.
