Dhan Khaling literary honour for Subash Deepak

GANGTOK,: Siliguri Nepali Sahitya Sansthan (SNSS) has announced senior litterateur and translator Subash Deepak as the recipient for Dhan Khaling Sahitya Samman 2024.

The Sansthan annually bestows the literary award during its foundation day on December 26 which also celebrates Agam Singh Giri Jayanti and Dhan Khaling Jayanti.

Names for this year’s awardees were discussed by the selection committee during its meeting at Salbari, Siliguri. The committee members – Gyanendra Khatiwada, Prof Kavita Lama and Meghnath Chettri - decided on Subash Deepak’s name as this year’s awardee.

Representing the SNSS was secretary Dr. Dup Tshering Lepcha.

The award consists of a shawl, memento and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, to be presented by the senior member of the Khaling family. The award ceremony would be held at Deokota Sangh, Pradhan Nagar in Siliguri on December 26, a press release informs.
