MPS girls win inter-school volleyball championship for third straight year

GANGTOK,: Manjusri Public School (MPS) girls’ volleyball defeated Namchi Senior Secondary School three sets to nil in the final of the recently-concluded 3rd State Level Inter-School Volleyball Knockout Championship.

Organised by Volleyball Association of Sikkim, the tournament featured 10 schools in the boys’ category and seven in the girls’ category.

Led by captain Tshering Kyiden Lachungpa and coached by Karma Senga, the MPS girls showcased outstanding skill and teamwork, clinching the championship trophy for the third consecutive year, informs a press release.

Tshering Kyiden was named the “Player of the Tournament”, while Merunisha Bajgai won the “Best Libero” award.

In the boys’ category, Rigsel Lepcha from MPS was awarded the “Best Libero” trophy for his brilliant individual performance throughout the tournament, the release adds.
