GANGTOK,: The craze of momo has taken the country by storm. There is no State in India
where this tasty product is not found and young and old alike have been
relishing on the delicacy of momo across geographies.
Upashna Khawas,
an entrepreneur and a resident of Panihouse, Deorali, Gangtok has been running
a B2B frozen momo business in Siliguri under the brand name KUB Foods for the
last several months. She has been over time able to garner attention as her
products have been traveling to various clients across geographies including
parts of North Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Odisha and Sikkim.
The business
engagement is mostly B2B with 95% of her clients ordering for bulk deliveries
for the products.
Speaking about
the venture, Upashna states, “Momo is a typical food delicacy we grew up
eating. Momos is something which India loves to eat. We started this venture
with an intention to provide originality of the taste of hills and we are glad
that our clients have liked our products and have repeated orders for the same.
We do momo in veg and non-veg variants, including Jain momos. We are
introducing vegan momos also shortly.”

any?
“Challenge is an opportunity. Each day we do
our work with a belief that this is one of the greatest opportunities for us.
To be able to reach out momos to a larger audience across different locations
and showcasing the taste of the hills through our momos is a wonderful
opportunity and we are thankful to our clients for believing in us,” states
Upashna.

times to come and also is looking at collaborations for engagement with

the recipient of the National Award on Swacchta from the Ministry of Jal
Shakti, Government of India for her work in the field of menstrual hygiene.
A part of the
proceeds from the sales goes towards conducting awareness programs and
supporting initiatives on menstrual hygiene in and around North Bengal.
