Chief Minister chairs coordination meeting of Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela

GANGTOK, (IPR): A coordination meeting was held at Samman Bhawan today to discuss preparations for the upcoming Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) alongside MLAs Madan Cintury and Sanjeet Kharel, heads of concerned departments, president and core members of the Mela Committee to assess the progress and identify areas requiring attention for the seamless execution of the event.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of teamwork and collective responsibility in creating a vibrant and memorable celebration.

“This event is not just a festival but a cherished expression of our cultural heritage, fostering unity and pride among the people of our state,” he said.

He further expressed confidence that meticulous planning and active participation would set a new benchmark in celebrating the State’s shared identity and traditions.

The Chief Minister also unveiled the official logo and promotional video for the event.

Discussions centred on the specific needs and logistical requirements to ensure the success of the festival, during which MLA Madan Cintury outlined the complete program planned for the seven-day-long Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela.

Additionally, representatives from the Mela Committee provided updates, presenting brief reports on the progress made by their respective departments in preparation for the event.
