‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ in West Sikkim

GEYZING (IPR): ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, a week-long nationwide campaign for cleanliness, is being carried out by Rural Development department, West Sikkim since August 8.
On the fourth day of the campaign, the Rural Development department in collaboration with Geyzing block development office and Forest department carried out a cleanliness drive at Datum Lake at Pelling and a lake at Rabdentse. The programme was carried out in the presence of district collector Karma R. Bonpo, Geyzing ADC (Development) Surat Gurung, Geyzing SDM T.T. Bhutia along with officials and dignitaries.
The ADC highlighted on the importance of the programme. He also mentioned on the new ODF (open defecation free) plus guidelines along with other activities.
Pelling NGO Blue Ring Society also volunteered to help with the cleanliness drive.
