NE United trials held in Gangtok

GANGTOK, : The North East United FC U-17s trial for Gangtok, in association with the Sikkim Football Association (SFA) took place at Paljor Stadium here on Sunday.

North East United FC assistant coach Naushad Moosa along with his team was received by SFA president Menla Ethenpa and general secretary Phurba Sherpa.

Approximately 60 players reported to the trials, a SFA release informs.

“It is an opportunity for our local boys to join an elite institution. I thank NE United for sending their team to scout for new talent,” said the SFA president.

The SFA general secretary emphasised the need to receive more exposure and such opportunities will indeed be of great benefit to the local talent of Sikkim.

The team is set to conduct their reserves team trial on Monday after which they will be hosting trials at Namchi, and a list of selected will be announced. The selectees will then report to Guwahati for further selection process, the release mentions.
