Sikkim BJP concludes organisational elections

GANGTOK,: BJP Sikkim has concluded the three day-long organisational elections for District and Mandal Presidents across the State.

The elections held Thursday at the State BJP city office elected Pempo Dorjee Lepcha as the district president of Gangtok supported by 7 Mandal presidents from various constituencies under Gangtok district. The party also elected Mandal presidents for 7 constituencies under Gangtok district and 2 constituencies under Pakyong constituency, a State BJP release informs.

Addressing the gathering, State BJP president DR Thapa urged all the newly-elected office bearers to work tirelessly to ensure organisational growth and welfare of the people of Sikkim. He also reviewed the Party Sadasyata Abhiyan, active members’ campaign and organizational formation from booth level to district level and extended gratitude towards the State RO, CRO, Observers and all other concerned district and Mandal executives for their tireless contribution towards the organizational growth.

Thapa also urged all the karyakartas to work towards ensuring the benefits of various Central schemes to the deserving beneficiaries. He laid emphasis on Ayusman Bharat PMJAY for 70+ Senior Citizens and E-Shram registration for the workers of unorganized sectors across the State, the release mentions.

Earlier, the State BJP concluded elections in Geyzing, Soreng, Namchi and Pakyong districts on December 17-18 where in total 5 district presidents and 25 Mandal presidents were elected.

Digum Limboo (Geyzing), Sanju Subba (Soreng), CL Gurung (Namchi), Prem Chettri Khatiwara (Pakyong) and Pempo Dorjee Lepcha (Gangtok) has been elected as district presidents. Remaining 1 district and 7 Mandals will get its presidents very soon, informed the State BJP.

Earlier, the gathering paid tribute and offered prayers for the departed soul of Late advisor Karma Pintso Bhutia, and the other relatives of Karyakartas, who had recently passed away.
