CAP Sikkim president concludes two-day tour of Singtam-Khamdong constituency

GANGTOK, : Citizen Action Party (CAP) Sikkim president Ganesh Rai successfully concluded his two-day visit to Singtam–Khamdongconstituency on August 24-25, as part of his ongoing Pravashprogramme to strengthen the party’s grassroots organisation and connect directly with the people across Sikkim.

A CAP Sikkim press release informs that Ganesh Rai has been routinely visiting different Assembly constituencies across the State to interact with local communities, party leaders and workers, and to further strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

On August 24, the CAP Sikkim president, accompanied by party vice-presidents and other senior leaders, arrived in Singtam–Khamdong constituency. He met and interacted with members of the local community in the presence of vice-president and 2024 party candidate Sumati Chettri, Gangtok District president Lalit Gurung, and other district and constituency-level leaders.

On the following day, Rai convened a constituency-level meeting with party leaders, office bearers and workers. During the meeting, he emphasised the vital importance of a strong and effective opposition in a democracy and stated that CAPSikkim is fulfilling its responsibility as a strong, vibrant and people-centric opposition party.

He also raised serious concerns over what he described as rampant corruption, misgovernance and mismanagement under the SKM Government led by Chief Minister P.S. Golay and reiterated CAPSikkim’s commitment to holding the government accountable on behalf of the people of Sikkim, the release states.

The CAP Sikkim president called upon party leaders and workers at all levels to remain united, strengthen the organisation at the grassroots, and prepare themselves to effectively fight against corruption and mismanagement.He further stated that there is a growing desire among the people of Sikkim for CAPSikkim to form the government in 2029, and expressed confidence in the party’s growing grassroots support across the State.

Rai reiterated his commitment to visiting every Assembly constituency in Sikkim within this year to personally engage with the people and strengthen the party organization, said the CAP Sikkim.
