GANGTOK,: Former MLA Krishna Kumari Rai on Sunday inaugurated the Namchi
Boxing Hall at the Namchi Parking Plaza.
The Chief
Minister’s spouse was accompanied by area MLA Satish Chandra Rai, NMC chairman
Ganesh Rai, Namchi District Boxing Association (NDMA) members, and the general
public.
In her
address, Krishna Kumari Rai highlighted the importance of women’s participation
in sports as a reflection of societal progress. She emphasised that
perseverance, energy, and consistency play a key role in achieving success in
sports and life, an IPR release informs.
The Namchi
Boxing Hall, which was already in use by the NDBA, will continue to be managed
and maintained by the association. Further, the event featured two exhibition
matches in the senior men’s and women’s categories, the release mentions.
