Sports secretary inspects sports infra in Soreng

GANGTOK,: Sports & Youth Affairs secretary M.T. Sherpa visited several key sports facilities in Soreng today.

The secretary inspected the indoor gymnasium hall at SYA office, Khelo India training centres for boxing and badminton, the construction sites at Jautar Stadium, and the hostel of the State Sports Academy for Girls in Soreng, a press release informs.

During the visit, Sherpa interacted with officers, staff members of the SYA, and students from the State Sports Academy for Girls. He was accompanied by several officials including Soreng ADC D.R. Bista, chief engineer Milan Kumari Pradhan, ACE Richard Lepcha, deputy director and head of office (Soreng) Mamita Gurung, deputy director and SSAG in-charge Palden Bhutia, Soreng senior secondary school principal Dr. P.B. Chettri, district officers, engineers and coaches, including those for boxing, badminton and karate, and contractors of the site.
