Mizoram club wins State I-Day Cup

GANGTOK, (IPR): Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang along with his spouse Krishna Rai graced the final match of Independence Cup for Chogyal Sir Tashi Namgyal Memorial Cup as the chief guest here at Paljor Stadium today.

Khawzawl Vengthar FC Mizoram against all odds defeated SPDL 2023 champions Sikkim Police XI by 3-1 scoreline to win the Independence Cup 2023. The team from Mizoram were excellent in all departments to pull off a feat to defeat SPDL 2023 Champions.

Lalkross Mawia from Mizoram was judged the ‘Man of the Match’. The award of ‘Best Goal’ was given to Lalth Akima from Mizoram, and Pujan Pradhan from Sikkim Police XI was awarded as the ‘Best Goalkeeper’.
